Chuck and Marta Wysong are a family breeder in Wawaka, Indiana. Since 2016, our goal is to produce high-quality golden retrievers with excellent health and temperaments. Our goldens have plenty of fresh, country air and space to run, both of which are essential to their health and wellness. Goldens are known for their loving personalities and desire nothing more than to please you, their adopted owners. They are also superb dogs for families with children.

We have had our puppy from Summer's Goldens for a week now, and we could not be happier. From the start, Marta had excellent communication and let us know exactly what to expect. After the litter was born she sent us photos of the puppies and kept us updated on their milestones. Throughout the process she was easy to reach and answered all our questions. When we went to pick up our girl, she had all of her paperwork ready and explained it all thoroughly. We loved the fact she had her microchipped already. We met our puppy's parents (which was so fun) and she gave us tips for the long drive home.

The best part is the puppy we have is extremely well-socialized, and ready to be part of a family. She is everything we hoped for in a golden retriever and a family dog. We have construction going on in our house right now, and she has adapted to all the loud saws and drills better than expected. She handled her first nail trim like a champ, and she is quiet when held. To put it simply, our puppy is a joy to be around. We can't recommend Summer's Goldens enough.

You get what you pay for, Summer’s is not cheap, one of the more expensive breeders we saw actually. But what you get is what people say is impossible: a great puppy. Ours is 4.5 months now, and we could not have asked for a better dog. She has zero anxiety, great temperament, was potty trained almost immediately, and loves everyone and every dog. I think so much of the anxiety you hear with dogs is probably due to inbreeding, whereas our angel has never chewed anything she wasn’t supposed to, doesn’t destroy, sits calmly even if we leave her in the car for a few minutes. She’s been a dream, and I think it’s 100% due to how Summer’s does business. We love our golden girl and would recommend Summer’s to anyone considering a Golden Retriever.

We got our sweet Nala Belle from Summer's Goldens back in early winter of 2018. We just celebrated her 7th birthday in October of this year, 2025! She is the light of my life!

From e-mailing Marta when I was searching for a reputable golden retriever breeder, to receiving photos when her litter was born and then visiting to pick out my puppy and then take her home...the entire process was seamless and enjoyable! My husband and I drove over 5 hours twice (once for the 5 week visit and then to pick her up) because Summer's Goldens felt the most honest and comfortable.

Nala was already so well adjusted and socialized when we brought her home. I did a fair amount of training with her as a puppy, but I felt like she already knew a few things when we brought her home and she caught on so quickly.

She has been the best dog for my husband and I! Nala is such a sweet girl, has a spunky personality and is such a healthy dog! I attribute those things to good long lines of health in the dogs that Marta breeds and the loving environment she provides for the puppies for the 8 weeks she raises them before they go home.

We will most definitely be visiting again once we decide it's time for a 2nd dog. I can not recommend Summer's Goldens enough!!!!

Summer's Goldens is a fantastic breeder! We have had very pleasant experiance across the board. Owners are very nice, updating regularly about the puppies and sending pictures. Dogs themselves are absolutely gorgeous, kept well and very happy. A package to go home with was a nice touch! Highly recommend!

We cold not be happier with the experience we had adopting 2 puppies through Marta at Sumer's Goldens. The process was easy to follow and Marta was very informative throughout with constant communications. The puppies are healthy and well socialized and are an absolute joy to be around. I don’t think I could’ve went with a better golden retriever breeder than Summer’s Goldens. From excellent communication to openness for questions and in-person visits, Marta was a pleasure to work with. She was very caring and knowledgable about her puppies and her observations on her puppies’ temperaments were spot on. Not to mention the health and genetic clearance and extensive early socialization. A bit on the pricier side but worth it imo, 10/10 would recommend!
